Property damage (PD) refers to any damage suffered to your personal property as a result of an incident. While there is typically a property damage component in a personal injury claim, there are other times when you may only want to file a property damage claim. If you have been involved in a car wreck, your vehicle will more than likely be the biggest portion of your PD claim. However, you may also be entitled to receive compensation for other losses resulting from the collision.
In a quiet title lawsuit, a court is requested to declare who owns the real estate in question and if any of the liens, easements, security deeds, etc., are valid. Without this legal determination of ownership, the title is considered “clouded”, which makes it difficult to sell or use as collateral. One example of how title to a property becomes clouded is when the property is purchased from a tax sale.
